Summer barbecue season has officially begun! And with that we tend to adapt to a more relaxed way to cook – after all, barbecuing is more of an event to enjoy rather than a task to just get done.

But that doesn’t mean you can be lax about practicing safe food handling habits. Get all the info you need for any season and any food in this newly revised safe food handling resource: Food Safety at Home.

Compiled by a collaborative effort of Health Canada and food experts through the Canadian Partnership for Consumer Food Safety Education, this resource contains the all important Temperature Rules for Safe Doneness chart as well as the handy Storage Chart and safe prep guidelines along the 4 tenants: Clean, Chill, Cook and Separate.

So get out there and enjoy your summer barbeque… safely!
