Beef Skillet Noodles

Ingredients
1 tbsp (15 mL) oil
1 lb (500 g) Lean Ground Beef
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp (15 mL) minced fresh gingerroot
3 tbsp (45 mL) packed brown sugar
¼ cup (60 mL) reduced-sodium
soy sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) sesame oil
½ tsp (2 mL) sriracha
1 bag (14 oz/397 g) coleslaw mix
3 cups (750 mL) crispy (fried) chow mein noodles
Instructions
- Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet. Cook beef, shallot, garlic and ginger, stirring often and using back of spoon to break up meat into small chunks, for about 8 to 10 minutes or until browned. Drain, if necessary.
- Stir in sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil and sriracha. Add coleslaw and cook, stirring, for about 4 minutes or until coleslaw wilts. Add chow mein noodles and stir until well coated.
